The Paldea Evolved Set contains 279 cards and includes 17 Double Rare ex Cards, 36 Illustration Rare Cards, 15 Special Illustration Rare Cards, 26 Ultra Rare Cards and 9 Hyper Rare Gold Cards. The Paldea Evolved expansion was released on 9th June 2023 as the second set of the Scarlet and Violet series. The Scarlet and Violet Series launch saw a revamping of rarity categories with each type of rare card having its own unique symbol. Non-holo rare cards were discontinued meaning all rare cards were holographic. The new categories are:

Snow Hazard features the Water-type Pokémon Chien-Pao while Clay Burst features the Fighting-type Pokémon Ting-Lu. No Fire-type or Lightning-type Pokémon are included in Snow Hazard; likewise, no Water-type or Metal-type Pokémon are included in Clay Burst. Snow Hazard and Clay Burst feature Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and the other Treasures of Ruin from the Paldea region as powerful Pokémon ex cards. The dual set continues to debut Pokémon and characters from the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Pokémon games. Illustration rare cards return after their introduction in the previous expansion. Snow Hazard and Clay Burst were released in Japan on April 14, 2023, followed by localized releases in Taiwan and Hong Kong on April 28, 2023, in Indonesia on June 2, 2023, in South Korea on June 14, 2023, and in Thailand on June 30, 2023. Bold indicates a main expansion. Italics indicate a special set. Releases that are entirely composed of prints from other releases are small.
