About this deal

Due to the style of the car we had, it was slightly awkward to get him in and out when rear facing if he was asleep due to the position on the deal belt, but apart from that we couldn't fault it! The first stage car seat comes with a newborn insert, and there is also a second insert for young babies, which you can easily remove as they grow – it simply offers more padding, and allows you to create the perfect seat size. Previously we have used Brittax products, which I feel are really solid and therefore I was not sure whether this item would be up to the same standard.

It has three different stages it can be used for, firstly as a rear-facing infant car seat from birth to 13kg and then as a forward-facing 5-point harness car seat suitable from 9kg until 18kg and then as a high back booster seat suitable from 15kg to 36kg. As my son has nearly overgrown his previous car seat I will now be using this as our permanent one and can honestly recommend this model. It also has adjustable headrest and harness heights, ensuring that it can accommodate the growing child at different stages of development. But not only is the Graco Milestone a high back booster, it is actually an all-in-one car seat that it can be used from birth all the way up until approximately 12 years of age. It is suitable for children from birth up to the age of 12 and can be used in various positions as the child grows. Being on a low income, I was looking for a car seat that will last me until my little one will no longer need one.

The Graco Milestone fit perfectly in the middle row of our Ford S-Max, between Otto’s Graco Snugride i-size (and more recently, his group 1 car seat now that he has outgrown the Snugride), and Rory’s extended rear-facing seat. Currently in the UK, the law states that you keep your baby rear facing until 13kg, although I personally prefer to rear face my children until they are approx 4 years in line with other European countries.

I must admit though, my 7yr old doesn't have too much room left in it so I'm not convinced it would last as long as Graco suggest. One of the things that is so handy with the Milestone car seat is that you don't need to fiddle adjusting the straps at the back. It's easy enough to convert from baby seat to booster seat and both of my children seemed comfortable in it.
