About this deal

Add all the reviews I’ve read said that erha wasn't meant for fluffy readers (ME) because of the supposedly concerning relationship between the male leads. Especially things like screwing RJ straight after rebirth (even if he doesn't know the truth yet), the flashbacks of sleeping with SQT after CWN death in 0. Pairing the gong MC with the author's writing skills that evoke emotions, it's no wonder that some might like this novel. this is a fantastic novel and one of my favorites by far, but i feel like the beautiful cover and the cute title can be misleading for new readers, so i would like to warn everyone about its contents. Now with how similar the stories are, I was initially surprised with how different the reviews for these two novels were.

I floated between a 4 and 5 stars for this but ended up rounding it up for the number of scenes which sucker punched me and made me have emotions. Anyway fact is throughout the entire first volume which is like 500 pages, Mo Ran doesn't change one bit. These are just a few things that make multiple, minor appearances in the background, then you learn the backstory behind them--their symbolism--and it leaves you speechless.

I can't help but think that if Chu Wanning didn't do any of the kind things he did such as making him wontons (even if he still wasn't as bad as Mo Ran thought he was) and that Shimei really was a good person, MC would have no guilt in what he'd done to ML and felt justified that r*pe and torture was a just punishment.

For all of its massive word count, it declines to explore the ramifications of many of the conflicts it goes to the trouble to set up while instead spending a great deal of time repeatedly attempting to create pathos regarding the central relationship - and for all the time we spend with the two leads, there is almost no sense of what they care about other than themselves and each other. This had some of the most gripping character arcs, and some of the most complex and nuanced characters I have seen, and there wasn’t a single core character that didn’t experience dynamic changes as a part of their character arc. Meanwhile, there is a large scale plot unfolding around the main characters, involving racial tensions between humans and demons, and ultimately the fate of the world. It's hard to say I enjoyed this book, theres ASPECTS of it that I liked but for the most part I did not enjoy it or spent my time reading it rolling my eyes. Second, the drama started because danmeilover translator making scene becase she doesn't know chinese (only learn in 6 months) and want to translate 2ha so she passive agressively dmed the first translator about taking over so that's why the first translation by rynnamonrolls is inaccessible now.

Personally, I felt that this novel was more of a gratuitous r*pe-first-redemption-after story than an actual love story. Be aware that he won’t shy away from telling you every single terrible thing he had done, so I wouldn’t recommend this if you can’t manage to enjoy very gray characters.I hope this English translation would accurately deliver Meatbun’s storytelling and hope that this edition would allow her to gain the fame that she deserves.
