About this deal

As mentioned, the Simba Hybrid is the original and flagship mattress in the brand's range. It's the second cheapest of the hybrid models – there's also a more budget-friendly Essential mattress, while those looking for an upgrade can opt for the seven-layer Pro or 10-layer Luxe versions (our Simba Hybrid Luxe mattress review will fill you in on that one), both designed to offer enhanced support and pressure relief.

For Simba, protecting the planet is as important as restful sleep. We’re proud to be the first UK-born sleep brand to be awarded certified B Corp™ status. Buying a mattress isn’t an easy task, so it’s worth doing plenty of reading before making the plunge. If you still have unanswered questions, below are a few of our guides and best buys that should help answer them: So what is perfect support? It’s about having the exactly the right balance between a top layer that compresses in response to your body, and an underlying layer that gently resists that response. Without the top comfort layer you’d feel like you were sleeping on a plank, but without the support layer you’d feel like you were sleeping on a trampoline.And how do Simba achieve that balance? With our unique blend of Aerocoil® springs and Simbatex® foam (or in the case of the Green Organic mattress certified organic Latex), all of which have the benefits of increasing airflow through the mattress. Simba’s foam mattresses don’t have springs, but extra foam layers provide sufficient support. You can of course opt for one of our standard Single Mattresses or a slightly longer European Single mattress for kids, depending on the size of their bed. But for raised beds or bunk beds we recommend our Hybrid Kids’ mattress; it’s a UK single size but has a shallower depth (16cm) to meet safety regulations. We also strongly recommend one of our machine washable, quilted cotton Mattress Protectors to help keep your double mattress fresh and clean.

Above the airy Aerocoil layer, and keeping things cool beneath the soft hypoallergenic cover, is open-cell graphite-infused Simbatex, which offers 30 times more airflow than memory foam, while also adding an extra layer of comfort. The graphite naturally draws away heat from the body to bring even more freshness to the Simba Hybrid. The Premium Hybrid is brilliantly comfortable and supportive, and it does a great job of keeping you cool throughout the night. Not only that, but we also found it to be very effective when it came to reducing motion transfer. As such, it’s a great mattress for light sleepers as well as couples who move around a lot during the night. We are founding members of BRC climate action roadmap. All Simba mattresses are made in the UK in zero waste factories from 100% recyclable materials, reducing air miles in the process. Our foam is CertiPUR® verified and free from dyes and heavy metals. Nothing is sent to landfill and all waste is recycled or repurposed into other products – like dog beds and carpet underlay!After this comes the Aerocoil spring comfort layer, where up to 2,500 conical springs isolate motion and distribute weight evenly across the Simba Hybrid. Below the coil layer is CertiPUR-certified toxin-free Simba-Pure foam to keep you supported no matter where you sleep on the Simba Hybrid. There’s a helping of Edge Lift Technology here too, so you won’t feel as though you’re falling out of bed if you sleep right up to the edge. For instance, when considering temperature, all-foam mattresses will retain heat more so than others, which would make them a less suitable option for those prone to overheating. The Simba Hybrid is a solid and affordable choice if you are after a reliable and breathable hybrid mattress, made from non-toxic materials and from a trusted brand. If you are lighter in weight it might be a little too firm, and this mattress is probably not ideal for all stomach sleepers either. But overall we really enjoyed sleeping on the Simba Hybrid and found it performed very well. There’s no need to turn your double mattress over to prolong its life; just rotate it head to foot once a month for the first three months, then every quarter after that.

Most of our mattresses are available in standard UK and European sizes (please note that mattress depth varies depending on the model you choose): The foundation on which your mattress lies – whether it’s a divan base, sprung slatted bed or even the floor – will play its part in how a mattress feels beneath you. And although we can’t regularly test multiple bed bases when reviewing a mattress, we will always take this into account. When compared to the competition, which we would class as the Nectar Hybrid, the Eve Premium Hybrid and the Emma Premium, among others, Simba’s RRPs are slightly cheaper. That said, depending on the mattress sales that are live at any one time, Nectar, Simba and Emma can often undercut. Absolutely. All our mattresses come with a 10-year guarantee; Simba certified Refurbished mattresses include a 1-year guarantee. verifyErrors }}{{ message }}{{ /verifyErrors }}{{

Do Simba also offer mattresses in smaller sizes?

The result? You can rest assured our range of Refurbished Mattresses will give you the full Simba experience, at a fraction of the price. We do advise you though to invest in one of our Mattress Protectors; they’re made from soft, quilted cotton and really help protect your mattress from wear and tear. You can even pop them in the washing machine to freshen them up when needs be. We did notice the cover on our review sample was a little loose and baggy on the mattress, which didn’t look so attractive, but when covered with sheets it really didn't matter.
