You can now take this container to your local DIY sheds, builders merchants or other locations that sell sand so that you can compare it and hopefully get a close if not exact match. Essentially, there is no science involved in matching a sand and cement mix to that of your existing wall or property, it’s really just a question of trial and error and also possibly a little research.

Accelerators help to speed up the setting and hardening process of cement and mortar, whilst retarders slow it down. If you’re looking for a concrete waterproofer additive, many of our accelerators, retarders and plasticisers include waterproofing and frost-proofing qualities as an added benefit. Once the colour is matched as closely as possible, the tint is then brushed onto the mortar after it has been applied and fully cured where it then dyes and colours it. Place the sand on an old sheet/cloth and leave it somewhere out of the way to fully dry off. Once dry, pop it into a clear sealed jar or container. However, it is important to remember that concrete drying, white or otherwise, is an ongoing process that usually reaches maximum strength after 28 days. How Much is a Bag of White Cement? For a more vibrant look, apply the remaining 2/3 pound of pigment to the concrete and repeat the entire process. NOTE: A bonding agent may cause the concrete color to be slightly lighter in shade than you originally planned for. Apply Concrete Mixture Even a small trace of dye can have quite a dramatic effect on the overall colour so you will need to experiment using quite small quantities at a time.

If it helps, I am looking for the sandy colour that this chap was able to get in his "this is how it turned out" picture (but funnily enough he wanted more grey!): I wonder if I need a different cement, to include lime not snowcrete, a different colour sand? If anyone can help I'd be grateful.

Concrete and All Other (General) Uses

CSA A 3001 is the Canadian Standards Association standard for Cementitious Materials for Use in Concrete. The portland cement nomenclature is the same as C 1157. The blended cement nomenclature builds off those designations. As with the ASTM specifications, white cement could be specified under the portland cement designation, but would not likely be specified under the blended cement specifications.
