With the DooD, Nuvo has once again reinvented the rules and brought a new concept for woodwind music making to the market! This instrument allows young children to start taking their first steps with a single reed instrument earlier than would otherwise have been possible. In addition, the DooD can add another tonal shade to primary music making ensembles.The Dood uses the same mouthpiece and reed system as the Clarinéo. Two NUVO resin reeds a fingering chart and a case are included. Fully waterproof so can be washed frequently with warm soapy water. Casio For over 60 years Casio have been producing quality electronic musical instruments for beginners, intermediate and professional piano and keyboard players. The DooD is an amazing idea, and works remarkably well for something that's in the same price category as many toys! If your child expresses an interest in learning the clarinet or saxophone, or if you've always been a bit curious yourself, then this is a great introduction to reed instruments. And with a soft, mellow tone, and the ability to play a full octave from middle C (plus a few extras!) it sounds very similar to the real thing! Plastic Woodwind Instruments
Plastic Woodwind Instruments have become widely used in Education, not least because they are cheaper than the real thing but because they are small and light and have a remarkable sound making them very acceptable teaching instruments – not to mention almost indestructible!
The Lyons C clarinet and latterly the Clarineo is used by thousands of students throughout the world. Recently joined by the Nuvo flute and jSax, plastic woodwind instruments are opening up avenues that otherwise wouldn’t have existed.
The jSax uses the standard Nuvo resin reeds with a 1½ and 2 provided with the kit. It can also use an Eb clarinet cane reed and some soprano sax mouthpieces will also fit. You may also want to try the synthetic reed by Légère which fits all Nuvo instruments.Flute
The standard flute in C comes with a wide variety of options from the silver plated student models to flutes which are precious metal throughout. There is also the option of closed hole which the vast majority of student flutes are, or open hole which is more common in advanced models.

The Alto flute is the next extension downward of the Flute in C. It is characterized by its distinct, mellow tone in the lower portion of its range.
The instrument has a chromatic range of one octave. The DooD is supplied with the same mouthpiece usually found on the Nuvo Clarineo.The jSax is pitched in C like all other NUVO instruments so it can play along with all WindStars music. It has a fully chromatic range from middle C to G in the next octave. For beginners with small fingers there is a set of plugs (training wheels!) which can be used to help seal the tone holes in the early days of learning. Piano Albums

The shaker can be used alone or with other DIY instruments to create the perfect percussion ensemble! Place a handful of the filler material into the canister, cap it, and then shake it! Soprano Saxophone

jSax The jSax, has been designed for players who are more specifically interested in progressing onto the saxophone. Again, like the DooD, the jSax is a single reed instrument helping to build a players sound production, posture and basic fingerings. The jSax is supplied with a carry case, a fingering chart, and 2 plastic reeds. You can also use cane reeds for a more traditional playing feel. Some soprano saxophone mouthpiece will also fit the jSax, which allows a stepped progression towards saxophone playing. The brasses are wind instruments where the sound is generated by the vibration of a player’s lips against a mouthpiece. This technique is unique and characteristic of brass instruments (trumpet, tuba, trombone, horn). Is sitar a wind instrument? We also improved the jFlute head joint by replacing the curved head with the new innovative “donut” head joint. The “donut” is a neat solution that still shortens the reach while keeping the embouchure hole in line with the keys. This helps young starters to keep the flute balanced while also making it much easier to set up the flute for each lesson. You will be surprised and thrilled by the resonant tone from the “donut”.The set includes the NUVO Firstnote lip plate which can be used in the early lessons while the student is learning posture, fingering and playing simple tunes. When ready, the Firstnote can be replaced by the regular lip plate which is also included. See video Two Nuvo reeds, a fingering chart and an instrument case are included as part of the set. In time, the player can move on either to stronger Nuvo reeds or even traditional cane reeds – Eb clarinet reeds are also compatible with the mouthpiece.
