The fragrance comes in a minimalist curved white glass bottle. The stencil-style Tabac logo is centred with the establishing year above and “Original” in red below. It’s decidedly 1950s and its retro vibe looks great on a bathroom shelf. As any natural material, tobacco absolute contains many terpenoids: linalool, linalool oxide, limonene, geranyl acetone, farnesyl acetone and many others The rosey note of damascenone is built up by phenilacetic acid and its esters. Generally speaking, esters are present in all their diversity in the tobacco scent. Among synthetic tobacco scent shaping odorants, we find compounds of very different structure: many synthetic cariotenoids have a tobacco note, with veltonal, a Bedoukian product, being one of the brightest examples of that: an intense violet-ionone odorant with a distinctive tobacco tone and an interesting raspberry-pomegranate fruity accord.

Liatris odoratissima), a plant of the aster family (Lat. Asteraceae): sweet, herbal- coumarin, with undertones of vanilla. Combined with musks, heliotropine, ionones and cinnamon, Liatris absolute creates a very interesting and dry powdery accord.

During the year, the fragrance does well throughout save summer where it may come across as too stuffy. Its floral properties excel during the spring to coincide with the seasonal pattern. Unfortunately, many may struggle with the heart’s extremely heady bouquet. It lasts for longer than the average fragrance and leaves a viscous sweet trail. People often mention Caron's Tabac Blondas one of the most famous tobacco fragrances, but it is rather more leather Isobutyl Quinoline, i.e. leather in vanilla sauce with hints of cloves and iris. The fact that tobacco contains physiologically active substances was known as early as VIth century BC: there is evidence that tobacco had been already cultivated.
